Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Visits the Moscow Buddhist Temple “Tubden Shedubling”
Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Geshe Tenzin Choydak visited the Moscow Buddhist temple “Tubden Shedubling.” Its abbot is our countryman, chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Buddhists, Geshe Yonten.
During the meeting, they discussed preparations for the III International Buddhist Forum, which will take place this autumn in Elista. The Forum is expected to bring together delegations and pilgrims from 35 countries that practice Buddhism. Among the issues to be raised at the upcoming large-scale event will be questions of Buddhist education and the development and support of the institution of monasticism.
Geshe Yonten also gave the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia a tour of the temple complex. He shared development plans and spoke about current projects. “I am very glad that a Buddhist temple has appeared in Moscow. Many Buddhists live in the capital, including Kalmyks, and now they have a sacred place where they can come, pray, listen to the Teaching, and talk with the monks. I wish the Moscow khurul prosperity, and the temple’s monks health and inexhaustible energy for all good deeds,” the Shajin Lama noted.
