Sporting events to be held in Kalmykia to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Geden Sheddub Choy Korling Monastery
On May 1, in the village of Yergeninsky in the Ketchenerovsky District, equestrian games will be held to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Geden Sheddub Choy Korling Monastery, known among the people as “Säküsn süm,” and the International Year of Gratitude to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. This was announced at a briefing at the press center of RIA Kalmykia by the Head of the Yergeninsky Rural Municipal Formation, Baatr Sadzhaev. According to Baatr Nikolaevich, the event is a traditional one held every year, and this year efforts were joined with the Central Khurul to achieve the goal of reviving and preserving national kinds of sport. Valuable gifts are provided in each type of competition. The competitions were sponsored by residents of the district and the Central Khurul. The main prize of the event is a Lada Granta car. The prize was established by the Association of Buddhists of Kalmykia.
