Tantric rituals concluded in Kalmykia
At “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni,” the concluding tantric ritual “Tangrag Kangso” was held. Today's ritual was conducted in two sessions. Tangrag Kangso is a ritual of gratitude to the protectors. The word protection refers not only to physical protection, but also to spiritual protection, that is, the protection of body, speech, and mind. During the ritual, the monks appealed to the protectors of the Teaching — first of all to Mahakala, the protector of the Central Khurul; to Okn Tengr, the patroness of the Kalmyk people; and to Kalarupa, one of the principal protectors of the Gelug school — with a request to grant protection and patronage to all living beings. This ritual is of great significance for everyone's life; it increases happiness and brings well-being.
