Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche Reviewed the Progress of Repair Work at the Arshan Khurul

At the meeting with Rinpoche, representatives of the contracting organizations showed the Shajin Lama the results of the work done, and also spoke about what remains to be done. As of today, the building’s facade has been plastered and painted, the staircase flights have been repaired, the lamp posts have been painted, and in the coming days granite tiles will be brought for laying on the steps at the temple doors. Also, according to the builders, new prayer wheels (prayer drums) will soon be manufactured and installed. Repairs have also been carried out inside the temple, namely in the basement area, where a retreat center for the monks will later be located.

According to a representative of the contractors, a large volume of work has been done, but there is still much to do. “The curbs will be replaced, the blind area will be made, and an asphalt path will be laid around the temple building,” the coordinator of the construction companies declared

During the inspection the Head of the Buddhists of Kalmykia drew the builders’ attention to the quality of the work being carried out, as well as to the quality of the materials used in the repairs. “A great deal has indeed been done, and even more remains to be done. Of course, we would like to manage to complete the repairs before the anniversary events, but the most important thing is the quality of the work, and I ask you to pay close attention to this,” the Shajin Lama commented.

“The monastery’s management plans to build a hard-surface road up to the monastic dormitories and to install lighting on the “Säküsn Süm” building as at “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni.” A large volume of work requiring considerable financial expense remains to be done, but despite all the difficulties the work will be brought to completion,” Telo Tulku Rinpoche added.
