The Central Khurul of Kalmykia Restored Three Banners Most Sacred to Our People

The Central Khurul of Kalmykia, with exquisite precision, restored three banners most important and sacred to our people: Daichin Tengri, the banner of Eselbein Sain-ka, and the banner bestowed by Elizabeth Petrovna upon the Kalmyk khan Donduk-Dashi.

Tomorrow, October 6, the monastic community of “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni,” headed by Yeshe Lodoy Rinpoche, will hold a solemn prayer service and consecration of the reconstructed banners in the morning.

It begins at 9:00.

After this, a number of other events will take place on the occasion of this important historical event.

At 11:00, everyone is invited to the conference hall for the presentation of a documentary film, and at

12:00, in the library of the Central Khurul, a presentation will be held of Gennady Korneev’s book “The Sacred Banners of the Oirats and Kalmyks.”

It is important to note that from ancient times the sacred battle banners were for our ancestors a concentration of strength, courage, martial valor, honor, and warrior spirit. The banners of the Oirats and Kalmyks were reverently preserved and passed down from generation to generation, bearing the blessing of the sacred texts and the Buddhist deities depicted on them.
