The Central Khurul of Kalmykia Will Hold the “Otch Manla Choha” (“Menla Dochog”) Ritual

Tomorrow, December 18 (the 15th lunar day), at 9:00 the Central Khurul of Kalmykia will hold the “Otch Manla Choha” (“Menla Dochog”) ritual of the Medicine Buddha (Sanskrit “Bhaishajyaguru”) — the head of the eight Medicine Buddhas. The Medicine Buddha is sometimes called Vaiduryaprabharaja (literally: “Lord of Lapis Lazuli Radiance”). In various cultures lapis lazuli has been considered a healing stone for many thousands of years. In its symbolic meaning it is purity itself, that is, it cleanses of any painful manifestations not only on the physical but also on the spiritual level. The practice of the Medicine Buddha possesses incredible power. Even simply repeating the name of this Buddha can protect against many illnesses. And if one recites the Bhaishajyaguru mantra daily, one can not only guard oneself in advance against many diseases, but also purify unwholesome karma and pacify harmful spirits that cause suffering. The ritual will be broadcast on our official YouTube channel “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni.” Names for the rituals can be sent to the email address moleben@khurul.ru An offering can be made via the QR code on the khurul’s website or on its social media pages.
