The Central Khurul to host a Teaching by the Venerable Nyana Siha Thero, abbot of the Russian-speaking Buddhist monastery “Cittaviveka”

Dear friends! 

At the invitation of the monastic community of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni”, the Venerable Nyana Siha Thero, abbot of the Russian-speaking Buddhist monastery “Cittaviveka”, has arrived in Elista on a visit from Sri Lanka. 

In his homeland, Nyana Siha Thero is known as a highly qualified instructor in the Buddhist meditation of shamatha and vipashyana. Possessing profound knowledge and twenty years of practical experience, the Thero generously shares his knowledge with all who wish to learn. 

The Venerable Nyana Siha Thero is the author of 3 books on the foundations of Buddhist meditation and practice, including the booklet “Who Am I?” in Russian. The Thero also gives all teachings for Russian Buddhists in simple, accessible Russian. 

The teachings on calming the mind and Buddhist meditation by the Venerable Nyana Siha Thero will begin on June 29, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. in the main prayer hall of the Central Khurul. For those who complete the full course of lectures, a retreat under the guidance of the Thero will be organized.

 During the lectures and practical sessions, a live broadcast of the teachings will also be carried on the official channel of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia on YOU TUBE.
