The Dalai Lama to Take Part in an Environmental Dialogue


January 15, 2022. His Holiness the Dalai Lama will deliver opening remarks at the start of a two-day international environmental dialogue between representatives of Islam and Buddhism on the theme “Applying Religious and Scientific Knowledge to Questions of Ecology and Sustainability: Islamic and Buddhist Approaches.” The dialogue is organized by Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM), the Tibetan Buddhist Cultural Center (Malaysia), the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization — International Islamic University Malaysia (ISTAC-IIUM), the University of Malaya Centre for Civilisational Dialogue (UMCCD), the Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia (TBCM), the Vajrayana Buddhist Council of Malaysia (VBCM), and the students' organization of the international program in Islamic psychology. Approximate broadcast time: 6:30–7:30 a.m. (Moscow time). The live broadcast from Dharamsala will be accompanied by simultaneous interpretation into Russian.
