The “Eezhin Keln — Enkr Zöör” competition
Today at the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” the ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-winners of the city competition “Eezhin Keln — Enkr Zöör” among the pupils of preschool institutions of the city of Elista took place.
28 pupils from 25 preschool educational institutions took part in the competition. The competition was held in two categories: Shülg (poems by the poets of Kalmykia) and Amn Ügin Zöör (yöräl, shavash, magtal).
The award ceremony was attended by the senior administrator of the Central Khurul Yonten Gelung and the head of the Education Department of the Administration of the city of Elista Arslan Erendzhenov. They presented the participants of the event with commemorative gifts, certificates, and Buddhist amulets — “bu.”
Congratulating the children on their participation in the competition, Yonten Gelung expressed the hope that their interest in the Kalmyk language and culture would not fade and that they would grow up to be patriots of their Homeland.
Also on this day, words of gratitude were expressed to Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche for his support in holding this competition. The Head of the Buddhists of Kalmykia was presented with a Letter of Gratitude from the municipal education authority for his significant contribution to the development of the spiritual and moral education of the younger generation.
