The Faithful of Kalmykia Solemnly Welcomed the Venerable Kundeling Rinpoche

Today, the first day of summer, became special for the Buddhists of Kalmykia. For on the eve the Venerable Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche XIII arrived in Elista. Today the Great Teacher was solemnly welcomed at the main gates of the Central Khurul by the Monastic Sangha, led by the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Geshe Tenzin Choydak, and by the faithful from all corners of the republic.

Addressing those gathered, Rinpoche noted that he is endlessly glad to visit Kalmykia once again, to meet with the residents and bestow instructions on the most important tenets of Buddhism. “From generation to generation the Kalmyk people have shown and continue to show reverence for the Teaching of the Buddha. And in order for the Dharma to bring the greatest benefit, it is necessary to study it, to know its foundation, while putting all of this into practice. Circumambulating holy sites, making offerings, reciting mantras, doing prostrations — all of this is undoubtedly important and necessary. But the most important thing is the transformation of our mind,” noted the Teacher.

Today the Venerable Kundeling Rinpoche bestowed the blessing for performing the practice of the bodhisattva of wisdom Manjushri.   This is a powerful practice in terms of gaining strength of mind. And the faithful were also told that at such moments it is important to generate the correct motivation: entering the path of the practice of the Buddha of wisdom Manjushri, one must think about all sentient beings.
