The Kalmyk People Made Offerings to the Deity of Fire. Today the Khurul Held Another “Jinseg” Ritual

Today, at “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni,” another tantric ritual, “Jinseg,” was held, when the monks make offerings to the deity of Fire on behalf of the entire people, of all living beings. By tradition, this ritual, like all others, began with a prayer service, after which all the participants of the ritual went out onto the territory of the khurul complex to conduct the Fire Puja.

Thirteen different substances for offering, specially prepared and purified, each of which has a special meaning. For example, by throwing black sesame into the fire, we ask the Buddhas to remove our negative karma and to purify our negative deeds. We offer rice to increase our virtues, wheat to overcome illness, and melted butter to improve well-being.

It is believed that deities, protectors of the Dharma, and masters of the locality descend upon the place where the Fire Puja is conducted. They gather to hear people’s requests, to accept their gifts, and, of course, to help.

May the virtuous motivation that the participants of today’s ritual generated within themselves give inner energy to everyone and be for the benefit of all living beings🙏
