The “Kangso” and “Hurvn Hüv” rituals were held in Kalmykia

Today, according to the lunar calendar, the Day of the Protectors of the Dharma is observed.

From the morning, prayers were offered up at the Central Khurul to Mahakala, Okn Teңgr, Nomin Khan, Bayn Namsr and our other Säküsn. It was crowded. Every believer hurried to pay tribute of gratitude to the Deities, to make on this day an offering of Altn Undn (“Golden Drink”) — Serҗm, and to ask the Protectors to continue to favor people, to help them rid themselves of suffering, illness and obstacles, and to bestow happiness and well-being.

In the second session of the extensive “Kangso” ritual, the monks also performed the “Hurvn Hüv” ritual. It is a threefold offering of torma. During the prayer service, small pieces of dough were handed out to everyone present. The believers, imagining that they were ridding themselves of everything bad, negative and unkind, wiped themselves with these pieces, which were later collected by volunteers for the performance of the purification ritual.

It is very important to perform this rite before our national holiday of Tsagan Sar, which above all symbolizes renewal.
