The lunar calendar for 2023 has been released.

According to its compiler Anzha-Gelung, it was traditionally issued in a wall format. It lists all the dates of important Kalmyk and Buddhist holidays, the dates of important Buddhist fasts, and details the lunar days, indicating the favorable days and the less favorable ones.

The new calendar depicts Arya Nagarjuna - an outstanding Indian philosopher, one of the 17 great scholars of antiquity - the panditas of the legendary Nalanda University. It was they who were the main sources of the most significant directions of Buddhist philosophy and made an enormous contribution to such fields of knowledge as logic, philosophy, and the science of the mind, which were explained by the Buddha himself. Their commentaries on the Word of the Buddha, their spiritual practice, and their methods led many onto the path to Awakening. Their statues are erected around our Buddhist temple.

This calendar for the coming year of 2023 can already be purchased at the shop in the Central Khurul, as well as at retail outlets around the city.
