The Main Buddhist Temple of Kalmykia Is Increasingly Visited by Young People
Every day, hundreds of people visit our temple. On weekends alone, up to 5,000 people turn to our accredited guides. These are mostly tourists, believers, and curious travelers from various cities — and each of them finds here something important for themselves: some find peace of mind, some discover new facets of Buddhist culture, and some simply admire the beauty and atmosphere of this sacred place.
It is especially gratifying that the main Buddhist temple of Kalmykia is increasingly visited by young people — schoolchildren and students who take a lively interest in getting acquainted with Buddhist culture and the history of our republic. The teachers accompanying the groups emphasize that such trips help young people better understand their country, appreciate the value of the cultural diversity of the peoples of Russia and, of course, come into contact with the wisdom of the Buddhist Teaching, which teaches love and compassion toward all living beings.
