The main temple of Kalmykia attracts more and more tourists
The flow of tourists has doubled, and the geography has also expanded. This is reported by the staff of the “History of Buddhism” museum of the Central Khurul. It was also noted that guests from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Vladivostok, Chelyabinsk and so on have begun to come more and more often.
According to senior guide Galina Aydarova, more than 80 travel agencies of Russia work closely with our Buddhist temple. “All the work of coordinating the excursions being conducted is carried out by us. We try to make sure that groups do not overlap or coincide with the holding of prayer services. And most importantly, the administration of the Central Khurul admits guides who have received accreditation, for it is very important to bring correct information to people about both the Buddhist teaching and the work of the temple itself,” Galina Alekseevna recounts.
This, by the way, is very painstaking work. Last year a practical workshop was held with local guides. The next such event will be held at the beginning of 2023, on the eve of the new tourist season.
