The Menla Dochog ritual will be held at the Central Khurul
Tomorrow, February 16 (the 15th lunar day) at 9:00, the ritual “Otch Manla Choha” (“Menla Dochog”) of the Medicine Buddha (Skt. “Bhaishajyaguru”) — the head of the eight Medicine Buddhas — will be held at the Central Khurul of Kalmykia. The Medicine Buddha is sometimes called Vaiduryaprabharaja (literally: “Lord of Lapis Lazuli Radiance”). For many thousands of years, in various cultures, lapis lazuli has been considered a healing stone. In its symbolic meaning it is purity itself, that is, it purifies from any painful manifestations not only on the physical but also on the spiritual level. The practice of the Medicine Buddha possesses incredible power. Even simply repeating the name of this Buddha can protect from many illnesses. If one recites the mantra of Bhaishajyaguru daily, one can not only guard oneself in advance from numerous diseases, but also purify unwholesome karma and pacify harmful spirits that cause suffering. The ritual will be broadcast on our official YouTube channel “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni.” Names for the rituals can be sent to the email address moleben@khurul.ru. An offering can be made via the QR code on the khurul's website or on its social media pages.
