The monastic Sangha of Kalmykia received a personal congratulatory telegram from the President of Russia


The President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated the country’s Buddhists on the holiday of the White Month. This year, for the first time, the Head of State sent personal congratulatory telegrams. The day before, the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Geshe Tenzin Choydak received one. 


In it, Vladimir Putin congratulated the entire monastic Sangha of Kalmykia and all believers on the arrival of spring. “Marking the renewal of nature and of humankind, this holiday symbolizes good hopes and expectations, as well as the striving for harmony and purity of thought.

Buddhist organizations carry out extensive and much-needed educational, awareness-raising and charitable work, and take care of raising the younger generation. And, of course, the contribution of Russia’s Buddhists to the preservation of peace, concord and mutual understanding in society, and to the development of interreligious and interethnic dialogue, is important,” the telegram states.

The President of the country also wished all the residents of our republic robust health, success and well-being!
