The Visit of the Delegation from India Continues

Today the members of the delegation attended the morning prayer service at “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni”, where they presented to the Central Khurul the first volume of the Mongolian “Kangyur” published in Delhi, consecrated water from the Ganges River, and a statue of Green Tara.

On the same day, the honored guests visited the Kalmyk Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Here the members of the delegation were acquainted with the center's archival collections and were told about its current work, including areas related to Buddhism. A meeting with scholars also took place at the B.B. Gorodovikov Kalmyk State University. There the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation, in particular student exchange. For its part, the Indian side is ready to accept students from Kalmykia on state-funded places in bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs.
