Today Kalmykia celebrated the birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

The festive events began in the morning with the “Sangsol” ritual, held on the square in front of the khurul. The monks and believers prepared special offerings to the deities, the protectors of the Dalai Lama: 3 white and 3 sweet substances and, of course, incense.

Next came the festive solemn prayer service, at which prayers were offered for the longevity of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, prayers for the happiness, peace and well-being of all living beings.

The gathered believers and the Monastic Sangha, led by Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Tenzin Choydak, congratulating our spiritual leader on his birthday, recited prayers for the health and longevity of His Holiness. “The most important gift for the Dalai Lama, the one he tirelessly repeats always, is to be kind to all living beings, to show love and compassion, to cultivate this always, not only in words but in deeds and thoughts,” the Shajin Lama noted, addressing the residents of Kalmykia.

Today, in honor of the holiday, the monks of the Central Khurul treated the residents of the Elista Home for the Elderly and Disabled, the Children's Psychoneurological Home with a department for young people with disabilities, and the children of the “Dzhangar” health camp at the KalmSU sanatorium-preventorium to a celebratory cake, bringing joy to everyone.

In the evening, on the city's Victory Square, in Druzhba Park, there were also sweet treats. Everyone who attended the celebration received a piece of cake specially prepared for the birthday of His Holiness. Enjoying the treat, the townspeople wished our spiritual leader good health and longevity🙏
