Today the faithful of Kalmykia offered their prayers to the Buddha of longevity - Amitayus

Today the Central Khurul was crowded. The faithful gathered not only in the Dugan, but also in the conference hall and on the 3rd level of the temple - everyone came to take part in the life-extension ritual.

Today the prayer service was dedicated to Buddha Amitayus - Ayush Burkhnd. The monks recited the sutra “Tsaglsh uga nasni sudr” - the Sutra of the Infinite Life of Buddha Amitayus, offering prayers for the well-being and long life of all living beings.

As the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Geshe Tenzin Choydak, noted, the motivation with which the faithful come to the prayer service is important. “Even if you do not know the prayer to Buddha Amitayus, recite the prayers that are familiar to you. Sincerely wish longevity not only for yourself and your loved ones, but for all living beings; this will surely bring you benefit”, - the Supreme Lama of Kalmykia addressed everyone present.

As we related earlier, anyone who wishes may take part in these rituals held on the eve of the national holiday Zul, but it is especially important to extend the years of people born in the Year of the Dragon, Dog, Ox and Sheep.

As soon as tomorrow, November 19, the second ritual will take place; it will be dedicated to the long-life goddess White Tara “Dolkar Tsedub”. The monks will recite “Tsahan Därkin nasni bütäl”. It begins at 9.00.
