Tomorrow, November 15, on the 22nd lunar day of the month of the Mouse, Buddhists celebrate one of the most important holidays - the Day of Buddha Shakyamuni's Descent from the Heaven of the 33 Deities.

According to legend, having attained Enlightenment, Buddha Shakyamuni went to the Celestial land of the 33 deities, where his mother - Queen Mahamaya - had been reborn after her death on earth. There, as a token of gratitude, he bestowed upon her his wise Teaching. And when the inhabitants of earth called upon the Buddha to descend into their world, he agreed. This took place in the locality of Sankasia - the territory of present-day India. And ever since that time Buddhists have celebrated this sacred holiday. On this day, special festive services are held in all khuruls, where monks recite prayers of praise to Buddha Shakyamuni and his Dharma… As clergymen note, it is advisable to devote this day to spiritual practice: reciting mantras and taking one-day vows. A virtuous deed on this day is also showing special care for one's parents, as Buddha Shakyamuni did. Tomorrow, in the main temple of Kalmykia, a festive prayer service will begin at 9:00 in the morning. Everyone is welcome to take part. For those who do not have the opportunity to come to the khurul, we invite you to join our online broadcast on the official YouTube channel.
