Tsa-tsa Are Being Made at the Ganden Tendar Ling Buddhist Center in Moscow for the Ketchenery Khurul

The tsa-tsa workshop was visited by the Head of the Buddhists of Kalmykia, Honorary Representative of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in Russia, Mongolia and the CIS countries, Telo Tulku Rinpoche. He conducted a consecration ceremony of the finished tsa-tsa, which will be sent to Kalmykia for the future khurul in the settlement of Ketchenery. According to the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, this is the first batch, to be followed by subsequent ones, which will also be sent to Kalmykia to be placed in the khurul under construction in the settlement of Ketchenery.

At the workshop of the Moscow Buddhist center “Ganden Tendar Ling”, the tsa-tsa and mirde are made of sculptural plaster, which is then painted. For this, silicone molds made according to Buddhist canons are used.

Tsa-tsa are made to fill stupas and Buddhist temples under construction, for offerings at sacred places, for the prolongation of life, for overcoming obstacles, for the auspicious rebirth of the deceased, and for other purposes. This practice is one of the most powerful ways of purifying negative karma and accumulating vast merit.
