Venerable Geshe Lharampa Jagba Gyatso arrives in Kalmykia

Once again, at the invitation of the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, the venerable Geshe Lharampa Jagba Gyatso, who for many years has been teaching at the oldest Buddhist monastery-university Drepung Gomang, has arrived in Elista. On the eve of his visit, Shajin Lama Geshe Tenzin Choydak met with the distinguished guest.

As was noted during the conversation, this time the Teacher will bestow upon the faithful of Kalmykia a commentary on one of the most revered sutras among Buddhists, the “Golden Light Sutra” (in Kalmyk, "Altn gerl").

The first session will take place this Saturday, February 7, at 3:00 p.m., in the khurul's conference hall. The lectures of the venerable Geshe Lharampa Jagba Gyatso will be held weekly on Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00 p.m., and on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to take part in the Teachings. For those outside the republic or who are unable to visit the khurul, we will try to arrange video recording.
