Yonten Gelung Awarded the “Public Recognition” Prize

Today, on the Day of the Republic of Kalmykia, the awarding of the laureates of the public prize “Olna tölä — Public Recognition” took place in the large conference hall of the Government of the Republic of Kalmykia.

Let us note that the senior administrator of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni,” Yonten Gelung, was awarded the public prize “for active participation in the popularization of Buddhism.”

In addition, the Head of Kalmykia, Batu Khasikov, presented Certificates of Honor of the Republic of Kalmykia, as well as the honorary titles of distinguished lawyer, people's artist, distinguished performer, and so on.

Also today, the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Kalmykia, Major General of the Internal Service Ibragim Alsultanov, presented Yonten Gelung with a letter of gratitude “For a significant contribution to ensuring human rights in places of forced detention and active interaction and participation in the events of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Republic of Kalmykia.”
