Yonten Gelung today defended the high title of Geshe at Drepung Gomang Monastery

We have just received wonderful news. Today, on the 1st lunar day of the month of the Mouse, on 15.10.2023, our esteemed Yonten Gelung defended the high title of GESHE at Drepung Gomang Monastery🙏🙏🙏

This important event for our entire republic was preceded by many years of study and work.

The monastic Sangha, led by the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, congratulates Geshe Yonten on defending this high degree. Ahead lie several more ceremonies, including philosophical debates and a large prayer service, where offerings will be made to the entire Monastery.

We are confident that this significant day will definitely go down in the history of the development of Buddhism in Kalmykia and Russia as a whole as yet another important milestone in the development of the Teaching of the Buddha.
