May the Blessing of the Buddha Always Stay With Us
The seven blessed days of the sacred relics of Buddha Shakyamuni residing on the Kalmyk land have come to an end. Today the faithful, with trepidation in their hearts and tears of joy in their eyes, saw the holy relics off on their journey home, to India.
In the morning a ceremonial part was held at the Central Khurul, during which words of great gratitude were expressed to the Indian side for such an opportunity to behold with one's own eyes and pay homage to the greatest heritage of Buddhists. Both the leadership of the republic and the Monastic Sangha noted the great significance of this event not only for the Kalmyk people, but for the entire country, for the very presence of the Kapilavastu relics in Russia is already a blessing from the Buddha himself.
With reverence, with heartfelt warmth, bowing their heads and offering prayers for well-being, the laypeople saw off the sacred relics. Incidentally, over this week tens of thousands of people came to visit the exhibition of the holy relics. For each of them it was truly the greatest event, one that will forever remain in their memory.
Along the route of the special bus that delivered the relics to the Elista airport, the faithful lined up in a “living corridor,” thereby expressing their great respect and reverence for the holy relics.
May the blessing of the Buddha always stay with us! May we continue to carry the Buddhist Teaching onward as a treasure! May each of us become even kinder and more compassionate! May all sentient beings experience happiness and joy
