A New Round of the Course on Studying the Native Kalmyk Language Begins
About the importance of knowing one’s native language, using it in everyday life, and how knowing your Kalmyk language is a great advantage was discussed at the first session of the Kalmyk language courses, which began at the Central Khurul the day before. More than a hundred students of various ages gathered.
The classes are taught by the perennial teacher, Doctor of Philological Sciences, professor of the Department of the Kalmyk Language, Mongolian and Altaic Studies at Kalmyk State University, Sergey Nikolaevich Artaev. As the bagsh noted, over the coming two months the course participants will receive the basic fundamentals of grammar, study basic vocabulary, learn to build dialogues, and answer questions.
The Central Khurul has long carried out such work to popularize the study of the native language. These courses alone have been running for 15 years, along with various contests and festivals.
By the way, if there are still people wishing to take part in this project, come along. The lessons will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, weekly at 18.00, in the conference hall of “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni.”
